2001 - Introduction of Stand-Alone Colour Corrector (SACC)
Launched SACC, a pioneering digital color grading system used by colorist Peter Doyle to grade “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” marking a significant advancement in digital intermediate (DI) workflows.
2003 - Collaboration with Autodesk
Colorfront’s technology was licensed by Discreet (now Autodesk), leading to the introduction of the Lustre DI system, which became a market-leading solution for digital color grading.
2005 - Acquisition by Autodesk
Autodesk acquired Colorfront’s intellectual properties, integrating its pioneering DI technologies into Autodesk’s suite of post-production tools.
2007 - Launch as a DI Facility
Colorfront re-established itself as Europe’s most advanced DI house, offering comprehensive post-production services, including scanning, recording, grading, and VFX.
2010 - Scientific and Engineering Academy Award for Lustre
On February 20, 2010, Colorfront’s software development team, comprising Mark Jaszberenyi, Gyula Priskin, and Tamas Perlaki, received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Engineering Award for the design and development of the Lustre color correction system.
2010 - Introduction of On-Set Dailies
Launched On-Set Dailies, a system that streamlined digital dailies workflows, enabling efficient processing and delivery of high-quality footage for major motion pictures and TV productions.
2012 - Primetime Engineering Emmy Award
On-Set Dailies was awarded a Primetime Engineering Emmy for its significant impact on digital production, facilitating the transition to file-based workflows in high-end episodic television.
2013 - Appointment of CTO – Bill Feightner
Award-winning image-science expert Bill Feightner joined Colorfront as Chief Technology Officer, enhancing the company’s leadership in innovative image processing technologies.
2014 - Introduction of Transkoder
Launched Transkoder, a high-performance mastering system supporting a wide range of broadcast and digital film formats, adopted by major broadcasters worldwide.
2017 - HPA Engineering Excellence Award for Colorfront Engine
The Colorfront Engine, an ACES-compliant color pipeline, received the Hollywood Professional Association’s Engineering Excellence Award for its innovative design and utility in complex production workflows.
2019 - Integration with AJA FS-HDR
Integration with AJA FS-HDRCollaborated with AJA to integrate the Colorfront Engine into the FS-HDR processor, enabling real-time SDR to HDR conversion and enhancing color-managed workflows.
2022 - Streaming Server TPN Gold Certification
