Case Study: How Coloriage Uses Colorfront Streamer to Collaborate Across the Globe

We had a conversation with Luke Linssen, founder of Coloriage, a solo-run color grading studio based in the Netherlands that focuses on handcrafted, intentional work across longform, commercials, and music videos.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about Coloriage and how you approach grading?

Sure! Coloriage is just me, running solo out of the Netherlands. I specialize in handcrafted color shaped with intent, and I work across longform projects, commercials, and music videos. What ties all of them together is a commitment to making grading feel personal, thoughtful, and deeply collaborative.

Q: What made you start using Colorfront Streamer?

I started using it around mid-2024. Before that, I was relying on screen sharing over video calls which, honestly, didn’t feel right. Collaboration is a big part of how I work, and without real-time interaction, a lot can get lost in translation. Written feedback only goes so far if you can’t ask follow-up questions or get a read on someone’s reaction.

Q: What changed when you switched to Colorfront?

Everything. It brought the feeling of being in the same room back into the process. I could finally hear how a client felt in real-time, respond immediately, and show live changes while we were talking. It made things more efficient, sure, but it also made them more human.

We used to do more revision rounds because that personal connection was missing. Now, it's just smoother and clearer.

Q: What does a typical remote session look like for you now?

It usually goes like this:

  • We set up a call with the director and DP.
  • They install the Colorfront Streaming Player on their end.
  • We spend the first part of the session, usually two hours, building the look together.
  • Then I take a short break to refine things and send a review link.
  • We hop back on a call, go through feedback, and wrap it up.

It’s collaborative from start to finish, and we’re always on the same page. No sending files into the void and hoping it lands.

Q: What do you value most about using Colorfront?

What I like most about Colorfront is the control. I know exactly how the signal reaches the client, the only variable is their monitor. I looked at other tools that stream to a web browser, and there were still too many unknowns. The Streaming Player solves that. It’s solid. That’s why I went with Colorfront, because it’s a tool you can trust.

I’d definitely recommend it to other colorists. It’s helped me connect with creatives all over the world and support them in telling their stories exactly how they envisioned them.
