Colorfront Streamer Webinar Recap: High-Fidelity Remote Collaboration for Post-Production

In case you missed it, we recently hosted a live webinar showcasing the power and versatility of Colorfront Streamer;  a professional, low-latency streaming solution designed for high-end post-production workflows.

Led by Streaming Product Manager Michael Booth, the session gave attendees an in-depth look at the technology, a live demonstration, and a Q&A covering the most requested features and use cases.

What is Colorfront Streamer?

At its core, Colorfront Streamer enables creatives, from colorists and editors to VFX artists the ability to live-stream their video output from industry-standard systems like Resolve, Flame, Avid, or Premiere to anywhere in the world. The platform delivers high-fidelity, color-accurate remote review with sub-second latency, making it ideal for critical viewing and client-facing review sessions.

With support for 4:4:4 12-bit video and a color-managed pipeline powered by the Colorfront Engine, Streamer ensures the remote viewing experience reflects the creator’s vision, whether that’s streaming HDR content to a cinema projector or conducting color-critical reviews.

Three Components, Endless Possibilities

The workflow is built around three core components:

  1. Streamer Application – Initiates and controls the live stream.
  2. Stream Manager – Handles invites, user authentication, and session management.
  3. Streaming Player – Delivers the stream to any supported device.

Streamer supports SDI, and NDI inputs, making it adaptable to a wide range of production environments. Device compatibility extends from high-end projectors to Apple TV, iPad, iPhone, and macOS/Windows systems.

Live Demo Highlights

Michael’s live demonstration, using Adobe Premiere Pro, walked viewers through:

  • Simple Start/Stop Controls and live stream preview
  • Settings for resolution, bitrate, color space, and audio format
  • Chroma subsampling options (4:2:0 or 4:4:4, Windows-only for now)
  • Browser-based secondary streams for clients without the Player app

In the Stream Manager, users can view active streams, invite participants via email or join code, enable single-use access, and remotely adjust streaming parameters.

The Streaming Player is available on multiple platforms and supports output to projectors, LED walls, or other calibrated displays, with adjustable latency settings including the upcoming Hyper Low Latency mode (1–3 frames delay under optimal conditions).
